Two San Francisco teams are going to India to race the length of the country in tuktuks,
and we need your support! We are raising money to benefit
Mercy Corps,
a lifesaving charity active throughout the world. To help
raise the over $4000.00 we've committed to (and maybe a bit extra for expenses), we're holding
a
fundraising party this December 9th at
Shine.
- What's the race?
It's a 2000 mile trip from Kochin in the south, north all the way to Kathmandu in
Nepal. We'll be driving a tuktuk, a three wheel motorized vehicle also known as an
auto rickshaw. We depart Kochin on December 31 and will try to arrive in Kathmandu by January 16th.
- What's the party?
Dancing, drinks, Bollywood movies, and more. We'll be raffling off fun prizes and
also holding a silent auction of artworks, gift certificates, and other items generously
donated by local artists and businesses, and a number of local DJs will be spinning hot
beats. We're asking for a sliding scale donation of $10-$40 at the door. All funds raised
at the party will be matched by an anonymous sponsor, so your donation counts twice!
Here's all the party details.
- Who are these people?
Team Quake City Madcaps is Annie Shao, Dain DeMarco, and Adam Waters. Team Crazed Weasels is
Rachel McConnell, Matt Ho, and Max Chen. Never heard of any of us? Check out our respective
